CITY OF MALOLOS- The weeklong celebration of this year’s Singkaban Festival is set to end through the commemoration of the 121st Anniversary of Malolos Congress on September 15, 2019, 8 am in the same venue where it first happened, at the historical Barasoain Church in this city.

Senator Maria Imelda Josefa “Imee” Marcos together with the top provincial officials headed by Governor Daniel R. Fernando and Vice Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado and thousands of Bulakenyos will memorialize the establishment of the Congress that ratified Philippine Independence through a flag raising ceremony, oath to the national flag and wreath laying ceremony at the monument of the first Philippine President, Emilio Aguinaldo.

Fernando recalled the historic event and shared his amazement on how this great province had played such an important role in the history of the Philippines.

“Kung iisipin nating mabuti, napakalaking papel ang ginampanan ng ating lalawigan upang makamit ng ating bansa ang minimithi nitong kalayaan, kaya naman tayong mga Bulakenyo ngayon ay dapat na magpatuloy ng kanilang nasimulan at gawin ang ating parte sa lalong ika-uunlad ng ating bayan,” the governor said.

The weeklong celebration of Singkaban Festival anchored on the theme “Sining at Kalinangang Bulakenyo, Dangal ng Filipino” will start on September 9, 2019 and will end on September 15, 2019.

It is the annual event of the Provincial Government of Bulacan, which showcases the province’s rich, history, culture, tourism and arts.
