CITY OF MALOLOS – “Use your education to serve our country and help our people. Mag-aral kayo ng mabuti ngunit manatili kayong mapagkumbaba. Tandaan ninyo: kahit gaano pa kalawak ang inyong kaalaman kung hindi naman maayos ang inyong pag-uugali, kulang pa rin ang inyong pinag-aralan.”
This was the message of Senator Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao to thousands of Bulakenyo youths in attendance during the Scholar’s General Assembly 2019 held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city yesterday.

“I am here to tell you: Never let your limitations limit you. Keep learning, keep growing and never stop learning because life never stops teaching,” the People’s Champ said.

As the guest speaker, ‘Pacman’ did not only inspire the youngsters to become a better version of themselves, he also led the distribution of scholarship grants along with Gov. Daniel R. Fernando and Vice Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado.
Under the ‘Tulong Pang-Edukasyon para sa Kabataang Bulakenyo’, a total of 3,980 scholars studying in private schools and institutions in the province received scholarship grant worth P3,500 and a total of 300 students taking master’s degree received P5,500.

Meanwhile, Fernando reminded the scholars to maximize the opportunities given to them.
“Sikapin sana ninyong makapagtapos at maging mahusay sa napiling larangan sapagkat sa nalalapit na panahon, kayo po ang makikinabang sa mga biyayang darating sa ating lalawigan,” the governor said.

Patricia Alcantara, a student from La Concolacion University of the Philippines, said that it is a privilege being a scholar of the Provincial Government of Bulacan.

“Isang pribilehiyo po itong ipinagkaloob sa amin ng pamahalaan. Bilang mag-aaral po, sisikapin ko na makapagbalik ng utang na loob sa bayan at gagawin ko po ‘yung part ko bilang mamamayan,” Alcantara said.
