Jeepney drivers in Bulacan join Singkaban Festival celebration

CITY OF MALOLOS – Around 600 hardworking jeepney drivers will take a break to experience a fun-filled half day of enjoyment and appreciation during the Araw ng Lingkod Lansangan on September 9, 2019, 1 pm at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium here.

The Provincial Administrator’s Office, organizer of the event, said that the Provincial Government of Bulacan headed by Governor Daniel R. Fernando and Vice Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado will distribute groceries and cash prizes to the members of the Bulacan Federation of Jeepney Operators and Driver’s Association (BFJODA).

Fernando said the activity aims to honor and give joy to the drivers and operators in the province for their hard work and patience in delivering passengers safely to their destinations every day.

“Ang Singkaban Festival po ay selebrasyon kung saan kabilang ang lahat. Batid po natin ang hirap at sakripisyo ng ating mga lingkod lansangan na walang sawang pumaparoon at pumaparito upang ihatid ang kanilang mga pasahero kaya marapat lamang na sila ay bigyan natin kahit sandaling oras para magpahinga at magsaya,” the governor said.

Meanwhile, a singing contest will also be held in the said occasion wherein winners will receive trophies and cash prizes of P10,000 for the first prize, P7,000 for the second prize and P5,000 for the third prize. Consolation prize worth P1,000 will be given to non-winners.
