Fire victims in Marilao town receives immediate assistance from PGB

ASSISTANCE TO MARILAO TOWN FIRE VICTIMS. Governor Daniel R. Fernando leads the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office in delivering aid to 188 families affected by a fire incident in Brgy. Tabing Ilog, Marilao, Bulacan yesterday wherein each family received food packs, financial assistance, container box full of necessities, clothes, face masks and face shields.

Each family received food packs, financial assistance, face masks, face shields, clothes and emergency kits full of necessities including pillows, blankets and sleeping mats.

According to the situational report no. 2 of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Section of Marilao, a barangay tanod from Abangan Sur reported the fire incident at around 12:08 PM, January 14, 2021 in Sitio Bukid at Brgy. Tabing Ilog where the fire occurred and got declared fire out at around 2:50 PM the same day.

Meanwhile, Fernando reminded the recipients to utilize the face masks and face shields that were given to them and observe proper health protocols to prevent the spreading of the virus during their stay at the evacuation center.

“Sa ganitong pagkakaton po, doblehin po natin ang pag-iingat lalo’t nariyan pa rin po ang banta ng COVID-19. Gamitin po natin ang mga face masks at face shields para po sa ating proteksyon. Inaayos na rin po ang mga karagdagang tulong para sa inyo habang kayo ay nananatili sa evacuation,” the governor said.

The victims were initially brought to Nicanor V. Guillermo Convention Center for temporary shelter before being transferred to Marilao Central School which will serve as the evacuation center for the 736 individuals affected by the fire incident.
