1,416 Bulakenyo fisherfolks receive cash and food assistance

CITY OF MALOLOS – A total of 1,416 Bulakenyo fisherfolks were given cash and food assistance by the Provincial Government of Bulacan under the Cash and Food Subsidy for Marginal Farmers and Fisherfolks Program of the Department of Agriculture recently.

With the theme “Biyayang Pang-agrikultura, Hatid sa Gitna ng Pandemya”, Bulacan Gov. Daniel R. Fernando led the distribution of cash and food assistance to four batches of beneficiaries from the towns of Paombong, Hagonoy, Bulakan, Calumpit and Obando and Cities of Malolos and Meycauayan.

The said provision of aid was done last December 17, 2020, February 4, 16 and 17, and April 27, 2021 respectively.

It includes cash vouchers or P3,000 each and P2,000 each worth of food such as dressed chicken, eggs and 25 kilos of rice.

“Patuloy po tayong lumalaban sa pandemyang ito at hindi po tayo titigil sa paglaban at tuluy-tuloy po ang ating mga proyekto sa pamahalaan lalo na dito sa Pamahalaang Panlalawigan,” Fernando said.

The governor also appealed to the 82 individuals included in the four groups who were given aid to pray and unite to be able to bounce back amidst dying economy due to the pandemic.

He also shared the plans of the Provincial Government of Bulacan to strengthen animal husbandry and farming industry in the province wherein he encouraged the Bulakenyos to have their business or have alternative earnings through increasing eggs production to thrive during the pandemic. ###
