Bulacan Medical Center receives 22 PPEs from Bulacan PNP

CITY OF MALOLOS – Bulacan Medical Center (BMC) has received 22 complete sets of personal protective equipment (PPE) from the Bulacan Provincial Police Office as part of the Philippine National Police’s simultaneous activity tagged as ‘Show Support and Compassion to Health Workers in the Fight Against COVID-19’ held this afternoon in this city.

BPPO also donated thousands of other essential supplies in this fight against Covid-19 such as thousands of hand gloves, hundreds of face shields and face masks as well as two aerosol boxes.

Acting Bulacan Provincial Director Lawrence B. Cajipe led the Bulacan police in a short program and hand over of the PPEs and other supplies to BMC conducted in front of the said hospital.

“Alam po namin itong mga complete sets po na ito mas kailangan po ninyo ito bilang mga frontliner lalo pa at kayo ay nakaduty sa ospital. Kami po ang in-charge sa labas para po hindi na magkahawa pero kayo po ang mas mabigat ang hinaharap, so we are turning over the medical equipment,” Cajipe said.

He also vowed support and assistance to all the workers and assured them that he will defend them if need be.
Further, Dr. Rawland M. Domingo, BMC director, is thankful for the donations for it will help the frontliners feel safe and secure while serving the people.

“Nagpapasalamat kami on behalf of all the frontliners here in BMC dahil kami ang napiling pagkalooban nito. Kahit na sinasabi natin na wala kaming pinapakalat na fund drive, but donations like these are of utmost importance, as we all have already realized, PPEs can save lives,” Domingo said.

Meanwhile, Bulacan Gov. Daniel R. Fernando provided meals to the frontliners through PD Cajipe and thanked the Bulacan PNP for helping the hospital in fighting Covid-19.

Moreover, some former employees of the Provincial Health Office-Public Health and 4-2 Express Marcelo H. del Pilar High School Batch ’77 donated 46 pieces of PPEs.

According to the Provincial Human Resources Office, there are more than 750 health workers in BMC while there are more than 1,500 more in other 10 government run hospitals in the province.

As of 4 pm today, the Bulacan PHO COVID-19 Surveillance reported that there are 36 confirmed Covid-19 cases, 12 deaths, 114 cleared PUI and 386 active PUI and 2,883 cleared PUM at 1,925 active PUM.
