Villar to witness Bulakenyos’ grand celebration of Singkaban Festival

CITY OF MALOLOS- Colorful. Artistic. Festive.

These are the characteristics that are set to welcome Senator Cynthia Villar and thousands of Bulakenyos in the grand and most anticipated celebration of the ‘Mother of All Fiestas’ in the province with the opening of this year’s Singkaban Festival on September 9, 2019.

Villar together with top local officials headed by Governor Daniel R. Fernando and Vice Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado will open the Singkaban Festival through a thanksgiving mass, flag raising ceremony and an opening program at 8 am to be held in front of the Capitol building in this city.

After the program, floats representing Bulacan’s three cities and 21 municipalities will ramp on the roads of the Capitol Compound as part of the Parada ng Karosa competition.

Also, at 10am, Bulakenyo artists will display their greatest artworks at Singkaban Art Exhibit at the Hiyas ng Bulacan Museum.

In addition, jeepney drivers and operators in the province will have a treat from the Provincial Government of Bulacan during the Araw ng Lingkod Lansangan to be held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium.

Meanwhile, different weeklong activities including D’Fair: A Singkaban Expo and Exhibit and Bahay Kubo, Bahay Gulay to be held in front of the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium; and Bulacan Food Fair Expo (BUFFEX) at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center will simultaneously open on the same day.

The ‘People’s Governor’ invites everyone to come, join, and participate on the numerous events lined-up to celebrate the province’s innumerable potentials and experience Bulakenyo’s world-class hospitality.

“Ito pong ating pagdiriwang ay bukas sa lahat, hindi lamang sa mga Bulakenyo kung hindi sa buong mundo. Tiyak na inyong madidiskubre ang mga yaman ng ating lalawigan na tunay na inyong kagigiliwan. Kaya halina na po kayo and discover fun in Bulacan,” Fernando said.

The opening of the festival anchored on the theme “Singkaban Festival 2019: Sining at Kalinangang Bulakenyo, Dangal ng Filipino” will signal the start of the weeklong celebration, which will showcase the province’s rich history, tourism, culture and arts.
