CITY OF MALOLOS – Vaccination against COVID-19 has officially started in Bulacan today at the designated COVID-19 vaccination site at The Pavilion Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center here.
Prior to this, the symbolic vaccination was held in front of the vaccination site that was attended by Gov. Daniel R. Fernando, Board Member Alexis Castro and department heads from the Capitol wherein first to get vaccinated by Development Management Officer V Dr. Emily Paulino of the Department of Health – Bulacan with Sinovac’s Coronavac Vaccine were Response and Vaccine Cluster Head of the Provincial Task Force and Chief of Hospital Dr. Hjordis Marushka Celis, Hospital Training Officer Dr. Jose Emiliano Gatchalian and Nurse Supervisor Alma Villena of Bulacan Medical Center respectively.
The Provincial Government of Bulacan aims to vaccinate around 300 individuals each day who is part of the 833 health workers, frontliners and employees from district hospitals and PHO-PH included in the priority list to get the first dose of vaccine.
Fernando, Paulino and Celis assured that the vaccines were issued an Emergency Use Authority (EUA) that was approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
“Ang pagbabakuna po ay para sa ating lahat. Ito ay hindi lamang para sa iyo at sa iyong pamilya. Para rin po ito sa inyong mga barangay, lungsod, at probinsiya. Ito po ay unang hakbang upang muli po tayong makabangon,” governor said.
He added, “The faster we vaccinate Filipinos at the soonest possible time, the better for Filipinos. Mahalaga po na mas marami po tayong mabakunahan sa lalong madaling panahon upang mas mabilis rin po nating mabuksang muli ang ekonomiya. Kapag bukas ang ekonomiya, mas marami ang makapagtrabaho at mas mababawasan ang nagugutom.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Jerica Miah Borgonia, one of the recipients of vaccine from BMC, was thankful for the organized process of vaccination of the PGB.
“Maayos po ang naging proseso ng pagbabakuna. Sa akin naman po ay walang problema kahit anong bakuna ang available, ang mahalaga ay mabakunahan laban sa COVID-19”, the doctor said.
In his closing statement, the governor said that it is also best to pray and seek for the Lord’s guidance as we the whole nation faces this pandemic. ###
