Thousands of Bulakenyos to walk for a good cause

CITY OF MALOLOS – Thousands of Bulakenyos are expected to participate in the walk for a cause dubbed as “Hakbang Para Sa Kabataan”, one of the activities in Singkaban Festival, which will be held on September 10, 2015, 6:00 in the morning at the Tanghalan ng Sining at Kultura, Capitol Compund in this city.

According to Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy. Alvarado, the funds that will be generated from the walk will benefit the out-of-school-youth and athletes of Bulacan.

“Sa pamamagitan ng Provincial Youth, Sports and Employment Development Office, Pag-asa Youth Association (PYA) at Bulacan Sports Council Federation, Inc. (BSCFI), sama-sama nating itaguyod ang Alay Lakad for a worthy cause na ito upang ating mabigyan ng pangkabuhayan ang mga OSY at matulungan ang mga programa ng lalawigan sa sports development”, Alvarado said.

There are two routes for Alay Lakad, the one that will start from the patio of Barasoain Church and the one from Santisima Trinidad Elementary School, both ending at the Mini Forest.

Expected participants are teachers, high school and college students from private and public schools in the province as well as local government officials and employees.

After the Alay Lakad, a short program will be held with some invited artists.

To empower young entrepreneurs in starting a small business, four PYA beneficiaries will receive entrePYAP food carts courtesy of BSCFI.

Meanwhile, raffle draw winners will bring home P50,000, P30,000 and P20,000 for the first, second and third prizes respectively and ten consolation prizes of P1,000 each.
