CITY OF MALOLOS – Health is wealth. That is why the Provincial Government of Bulacan and the Philippine Medical Association, Medical Mission Foundation of Greater St. Louis, Missouri, United States of America continue to join forces in initiating an annual free medical and surgical mission, which will be conducted on January 21-24, 2019 at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium and Bulacan Medical Center here.
Around 59 Filipino and American doctors and nurses will conduct the said free medical mission that includes consultation and check-ups for children and adult, dental and ophthalmology services, and minor and major operations.
Beneficiaries of the said four-day activities is estimated to service around 3,500 Bulakenyos.
Meanwhile, based on the figures gathered by the Provincial Government of Bulacan, the medical mission benefited 3,298 last year while a total of 16,933 Bulakenyos availed of the program from 2013 to 2018.
Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said he is thankful to the association for its unwavering support and for extending incessant help to the underprivileged Bulakenyos.
“Anumang programa ay higit na nagiging mas magaan at madaling ipatupad lalo na kung tayo ay may katuwang. Dahil dito, lubos akong nagpapasalamant sa mga bumubuo ng PMA Medical Mission na ito sapagkat ilang taon na nating silang katuwang sa pagbibigay ng libreng serbisyong medikal sa ating mga kalalawigan. Huwag po nating sayangin ang oportunidad na ito. Tangkilikin po natin ang libreng serbisyong ito para sa ikabubuti ng ating kalusugan,” Alvarado said.
The governor added that interested Bulakenyos may coordinate with their Barangay Captains or Barangay Health Workers for referral and other information because the PGB is already coordinating with them.
Moreover, Bulakenyo talents are set to welcome the PMA Medical Mission Foundation of Greater St. Louis delegates through performances as well as the provincial officials, department heads, assistant department heads and division chiefs of offices on January 20, 2019 at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center wherein Dr. Vicente Zata, the foundation’s president will give his message.
