TESDA, PGB to launch “Barangay Kasanayan Para Sa Kabuhayan at Kapayapaan sa Bulacan”

CITY OF MALOLOS – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in cooperation with the Provincial Government of Bulacan will launch the “Barangay Kasanayan Para Sa Kabuhayan at Kapayapaan sa Bulacan” (BKKKB) program on February 17, 2017, 8:00 in the morning at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city.

TESDA Director General and Secretary Guiling “Gene” A. Mamondiong and Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado will lead the said launching of Barangay-based Scholarship Program or free barangay-based skills training called BKKKB which aims to provide a right training program for the employment and community development of Bulakenyos at the barangay level.

According to Alvarado, the support needed for tech-voc trainings for the local and grassroots level will be identified and responded through the coordination of the local government units with TESDA and other concerned agencies.

“Isang napakagandang programa ito ng pamahalaan kung saan ang mga mamamayan sa komunidad ay magkakaroon ng mayaman at mataas na antas ng kaalaman at kasanayan, gayundin ito ay magiging daan para sa paglikha ng iba’t ibang uri ng programang pangkabuhayan,” the governor said.

The governor supports the launching of the said program in an aim to help the Bulakenyos in the rural areas including the out-of-school youth, unemployed, and those who want to learn new skills for self-employment, overseas work and entrepreneurship.

According to the Provincial Youth, Sports, Employment and Development Office, more or less 3,500 Bulakenyos including technical and vocational students, Barangay Training and Employment Coordinators (BTEC), OFWs, Lingkod Lingap sa Nayon (LLN), and Pagasa Youth Association members among others will be given an orientation to be headed by Director Grace Corazon Castillo of TESDA, Bulacan Field Office.

Also, the officials of the different municipalities and barangay officials of the province are expected to grace the said event.
