CITY OF MALOLOS- Governor Daniel R. Fernando ordered the stepping up of the province’s vaccination rollout plan or design to inoculate more than two million Bulakenyos to achieve herd immunity during the Provincial Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 Meeting last Thursday.
“Ito ngayon ang focus natin, mabilis at maayos na sistema ng vaccination. Tulungan natin ang mga bayan at lungsod sa sistema ng pagbabakuna at mga barangay. Tamang oryentasyon at pagsasanay ang kailangan upang mapabilis at maiayos ang lahat ng bagay na iyan lalo na sa pagbabakuna,” the governor said.
He added that the vaccination is under the administration of the cities and municipalities but the PGB will help them manage especially now that the steady supply of vaccine is coming.
“Magdisenyo tayo at magtakda ng mega vaccination sites gaya ng nakikita sa ibang bansa. Ikonsidera natin ang pagbabakuna sa bahay-bahay para sa mga maysakit at mga nakatatanda. Let us tap our community workers and volunteers. Seek the help of private doctors. Maglunsad tayo ng bayanihan sa bakuna,” Fernando suggested.
He also mentioned that according to Vaccine Czar Sec. Carlito Galvez, Jr., Bulacan is one of the priority provinces for vaccine allocation because it is one of the provinces in the virus’s center of gravity.
According to the report of Dr. Hjordis Marushka Celis, PTF on COVID-19 Response Cluster Head, a total of 80,313 Bulakenyos have been vaccinated with their first dose while 19,154 have completed two doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
She added that 33,849 were injected with Sinovac and 46,464 with AstraZeneca for their first dose; while 17,505 received Sinovac and 1,649 were vaccinated with AstraZeneca for their second dose.
She also informed the group that Bulacan has accepted 55,619 doses of Sinovac and 76,810 doses of AstraZeneca for the first dose; and 55,619 doses of Sinovac and 18,430 doses of AstraZeneca for the second dose from the national government.
Out of the total allocation of the province, 88.65% for the first dose and 79.70% for the second dose were distributed to vaccination sites. ###
