Singkaban Festival features ‘the best adobo’ cook off
CITY OF MALOLOS – Bulakenyo foodies are in for a treat as this year’s Delectable Flavors of Bulacan Kalutong Bulacan Food Festival features ‘the best adobo’ cookfest on September 11, 2019, 9 am at Antonio Bautista Capitol Compound in this city.
Eight restaurants will compete and cook their best versions of adobo, one of the favorite viands of Dr. Jose Rizal, the country’s national hero.
Included in the roster of participants are Balai Serafin, Balai Tiaong, Cocina Sueño, Ganchan Authentic Japanese Cuisine, Hapag Events Place and Restaurant, Ka Enan Restaurant, My Rustic Garden Restaurant and Pinggang Pinoy.
Contestants will be judged according to Recipe and Taste – 80 points, which includes Taste of Food – 45 points; Composition (nutrients and combination of ingredients) – 15 points ; Hygiene – 10 points; Plating – 5 points and Technique – 5 points; As for the Presentation – 20 points, it includes Creativity – 10 points and Globalization – 10 points.
There will be point deductions when the participants exceeded time limit – 1 point per minute and 1 point if they forgot to clean their work stations.
Winners will receive P30,000, P20,000 and P15,000 for first, second and third places respectively.
Known to be a province with rich culinary tradition, Gov. Daniel R. Fernando expresses his excitement to taste the different varieties of adobo that will surely tempt the Bulakenyos’ palates.
“Maliban sa pagiging lunduyan ng mga bayani, siksik din ang ating lalawigan sa mga masasarap na kaluto na nagpapatanyag din sa ating mga Bulakenyo. Natitiyak ko na ang iba’t ibang luto ng adobo ng mga lalahok dito ay masarap, kakaiba at babalik-balikan,” the governor said.
Meanwhile, Clara R. Lapus, the president of Mama Sita Foundation, is expected to grace the activity to give her inspirational message.
The said event was made possible through the Provincial History, Arts, Culture, And Tourism Office in cooperation with Bulacan Restaurants Owners Association.
