Senator Grace Poe to join the Singkaban Festival 2017 celebration

CITY OF MALOLOS – The opening of the Singkaban Festival 2017 weeklong celebration and a showcase of the diverse arts and culture of the province is set to formally kick-off on September 8, 2017 with the theme “Bulacan: Babalik-balikan” wherein Senator Grace Poe will join as guest of honor.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that thousands of Bulakenyo are expected to go to the Provincial Government of Bulacan to witness the opening of the festival that will begin at 8:00 in the morning with a thanksgiving mass, flag raising and an opening program to be held in front of the Capitol Building in this city.

This will be followed by a “Parada ng Karosa” which highlights the products of the towns and cities with beautiful designs, “Indakan sa Kalye” that features the skills of the Bulakenyo in dancing, presentation of the candidates of the first “Hari at Reyna ng Singkaban 2017” and “Opening of the Exhibits” such as Sineliksik Bulacan Docufest 2017 Film Showing, Pambansang Kumperensiya sa Bulacan 2017 and Bulacan Business Week.

Also, in the first day of the festival, at 6:00 in the evening, a Globe Night called “Sing Ka Band 2017” will be held at the Bulacan Sports Complex wherein Sponge Cola and Rocksteddy Band will rock and roll with the Bulakenyo in a concert to be followed by a display of colorful and awesome pyrotechnics in “Pasiklaban sa Singkaban” at 10:00 in the evening.

“Sa unang araw pa lamang ay siksik na siksik na sa mga kaabang-abang na programa ang ating Singkaban Festival 2017 kung kaya naman inaanyayahan ko kayong lahat na makiisa at makisaya sa pagdiriwang ng tinaguriang ‘Mother of all fiestas in Bulacan’,” Alvarado’s invitation.

The governor said also that the Provincial Government of Bulacan has lined up lots of activities that will bring enjoyment to the Bulakenyo like “Bulacan X-Factor Grand Finals”, “Hari at Reyna ng Singkaban Coronation Night”, Gary Valenciano and Hiyas ng Bulacan Bass Brand concerts and other talent competitions such as “Banda Rito, Sayaw Doon”.

Also, the Bulakenyos are expected to join the weeklong activities like “Singkaban ng Bayan” (Singkaban Arc making Competition), “Bahay Kubo, Bahay Gulay” and “Tatak Singkaban ng Central Luzon 2017”.
