CITY OF MALOLOS – Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero will lead the 127th Philippine Independence Day celebration on Thursday, June 12, at the historic Barasoain Church in this city.
The ceremony, which begins at 7 a.m., carries the theme “Kalayaan. Kinabukasan. Kasaysayan.”, wherein Escudero will serve as the guest of honor and will be joined by Bulacan officials led by Governor Daniel R. Fernando for the flag-raising, oath to the national flag, and a wreath-laying at the monument of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo.
Fernando called on Bulakenyos to reaffirm their commitment to national pride and sovereignty.
“Napakahalaga po ng araw na ito sa ating mga Pilipino. Ang paggunita nito ay simbolo ng ating pagmamahal sa ating bayan, kaya’t patuloy nating pagyamanin at ingatan ang ating kalayaan,” he said.
The Provincial Government of Bulacan earlier marked National Flag Day with a flag-raising ceremony on May 28 at the Capitol Grounds, led by Vice Governor Alexis C. Castro.
As part of the Independence Day week activities, a job fair will be held on Wednesday, June 11, at Robinsons Place Malolos starting at 10 a.m. The event, organized by the Provincial Public Employment Services Office in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment, will feature job openings from 20 local employers for aspiring Bulakenyo jobseekers. ###
