Sen Villanueva to grace 444th Bulacan Foundation Day celebration

CITY OF MALOLOS– Bulakenyo Senator and Senate Majority Leader Emmanuel “Joel” J. Villanueva, together with Governor Daniel R. Fernando and Vice Gov. Alexis C. Castro, is set to lead the celebration of the 444th Bulacan Foundation Day on August 15, 2022, 8 am at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city.

Anchored on the theme “Katatagan ng mga Bulakenyo, Hiyas ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino”, the program will start with a wreath-laying activity on the monument of the Bulakenyo hero Gat Marcelo H. Del Pilar in front of the Provincial Capitol building and will be followed by a holy mass inside the gymnasium.

In addition, the Provincial Government of Bulacan will unveil the cultural marker in front of the Hiyas ng Bulacan Cultural Center which was declared an important cultural heritage by virtue of Kapasiyahan Blg. 019-T’2022 in relation to its 50th Founding Anniversary.

Fernando invited the Bulakenyos to celebrate the founding anniversary of the province by looking back on its rich culture and history.

“Apat na daan at apatnapu’t apat na taon na ang nakakaraan, itinatag ang ating dakilang lalawigan. Simula noong araw na iyon, patuloy pa ring dinadala ng mga Bulakenyo ang pangalan ng ating minamahal na bayan sa rurok ng tagumpay. Marapat lamang na ipagbunyi natin ang mahalagang araw na ito sa ating kasaysayan,” the governor said.

Meanwhile, by virtue of Proclamation No. 19 signed by Executive Secretary Victor D. Rodriguez and Section 14 of Panlalawigang Kautusan Blg. C-004 or the “An Ordinance Enacting the New Provincial Administrative Code of Bulacan”, August 15, 2022 is declared to be a special non-working day in the whole province.

Bulacan Foundation Day also cues the monthlong celebration of the Mother of all Fiestas of the Province, Singkaban Festival. ###
