Secretary Panelo, Tolentino grace Singkaban Festival opening

CITY OF MALOLOS – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s Legal Counsel Chief Secretary Salvador Panelo and Adviser on Political Affairs Francis Tolentino made the opening day of the Singkaban Festival more meaningful with their presence during the opening program held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium here today.
Secretary Panelo grabbed the opportunity to ask for the people’s prayers for the health and well-being of the President.
“We are so lucky to have this kind of President. A man who is incorruptible. A man who has a sense of entitlement. A man who will die for us. A man who doesn’t care if we will oust him, impeach him, kill him, endure him or get sick in the process and die at the process,” Panelo said.
Meanwhile, Tolentino emphasized that the history and culture of the country is not for sale and recognized the efforts of the Bulakenyos in commemorating the legacy of the past.
“Napakahirap bumuo ng ganitong festivity, hindi ito makukuha ng isang linggo o isang buwan lamang lalung-lalo na kung ang pinag-uusapan natin ay ang tinuhog na kasaysayan ng Bulacan,” Tolentino said.
For his part, Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado welcomed all the thousands of Bulakenyos in the grandest festival of the province.
“Ang pagdiriwang ng pista ng singkaban ay paglililok sa ating mga puso’t kaluluwa sa ating mayamang kasaysayan, sining at kalinangan upang matalos natin ang kadakilaan ng pagiging Bulakenyo,” the governor said.
Formerly known as Linggo ng Bulacan, the month-long celebration of Singkaban Festival kicked-off during the Bulacan Foundation Day last August 15 and will end through the commemoration of the Malolos Congress on September 15.
