Rescue tools to be distributed in the launching of Fire Prevention Month
CITY OF MALOLOS – The Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) will distribute rescue tools as part of the activities in the celebration of Fire Prevention Month this March.
Coinciding the Flag Ceremony on Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city, the PDRRMO lined up month long activities to create awareness as well as to increase the knowledge of Bulakenyos about working together with regard to fire prevention.
With the theme “Kaalaman at Pagtutulungan ng Sambayanan, Kaligtasan sa Sunog ay Makakamtan”,
PDRRMO will distribute rescue tools such as spine board, set of splints, trauma kit, life vests, mega phone, and throw bag.
They will also distribute leaflets about safety precautions in preventing fire, as well as paracords and light sticks that can be used in time of emergency and other calamities.
The PDRRMO will also give prizes to the rescue team and individuals in their “Ang Bote Mo, Kaligtasan Ko” program.
Meanwhile, a Fire Safety Inspection within the capitol and other public and private establishments will be conducted by PDRRMO.
To enhance the knowledge and awareness of the rescuers about disaster preparedness, a Rapid Earthquake Disaster Assessment System (REDAS) Training and Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) and Fire and Bomb Threat Drill will be held.
Also part of the celebration is the blood donation drive wherein Bulakenyos are encouraged to voluntarily donate blood in order to save lives.
Prior to this, a motorcade was held last March 1 in this city which kicked off the observance of Fire Prevention Month.
According to Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, PDRRMO has comprehensive guidelines in addressing calamity and accidents efficiently.
“Subok na ang kakayahan at kahandaan ng ating mga rescue team sa lalawigan sa pagtugon sa kalamidad at sakuna, ito ay pinatunayan na natin sa iba’t ibang parangal at pagkilalang natanggap natin,” the governor added.
