PVO conducts free medical mission, serves hundreds of fur pals with spay, neuter and vaccinations
CITY OF MALOLOS – In a continued effort to promote responsible pet ownership and safeguard animal well-being across the province, the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) conducted free Veterinary Medical Mission providing spay, neuter, anti-rabies vaccination and free checkup services to hundreds of cats and dogs held at the Mini-Forest Stage, Capitol Compound here yesterday.
A total of 98 cats and 29 dogs were spayed and neutered, while 155 cats and dogs received anti-rabies vaccinations.
During the program, pet owners were also given essential information on how to maintain their pets’ health, prevent common diseases, and practice proper grooming and nutrition.
Mher Caballero from Brgy. Panasahan, City of Malolos, said that they opted for the free spay service for their pet Husky to avoid having more puppies, as they already have five others.
“Ako po’y lubos na nagpapasalamat at nagakaroon ng ganitong programa dahil marami na kaming aso, para hindi na dumami pa, dahil hindi na namin maaasikaso. At sabi nila, mahalaga na ipakapon para humaba pa ‘yung buhay nila,” she said.
Jaycee D. Param, an exhibitor from Emervet and Royal Tails, also expressed that their products are proudly made in the City of Meycauayan, and for this reason, they are fully committed to supporting the Provincial Government of Bulacan in offering free services for pets.
In his message, Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Voltaire G. Basinang urged Bulakenyos to join them in promoting awareness about responsible pet care within the community, noting that 21 Bulakenyos lost their lives last year due to rabies infections.
“Ganoon po kaseryoso ang sakit na rabies. Sana po, dahil libre naman ang ating spaying and neuter, ang pinaka bayad na lang po ninyo ay i-encourage na lang po ninyo ang inyong mga kapitbahay na magpabakuna rin ng kanilang mga aso at pusa, at kung maaari ay ipakapon na rin nila,” Basinang said.
The PVO encourages all pet owners to participate in future events and take an active role in promoting responsible pet care and population control. For more information about their services, visit their official Facebook page at Bulacan Provincial Veterinary Office. ###
