Provincial Satellite Auditing Office to rise in Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS – Government auditors will soon have a building of their own, complete with a dormitory and stockroom in Brgy. Bulihan in this city.

Top officials of the Commission on Audit (COA) together with Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado and Provincial Administrator Eugenio Payongayong led the groundbreaking rites of the COA’s Provincial Satellite Auditing Office (PSAO) on a 3,000 square meters lot along McArthur Highway in Brgy. Bulihan in this city last Friday.

COA Chairman Michael Aguinaldo thanked Gov. Alvarado and the Provincial Government of Bulacan as well as Vice Gov. Daniel R. Fernando and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for donating a big space of land where a new building would be constructed for the government auditors.

Once completed, Aguinaldo said the provincial office of COA which is presently housed inside a building at the Provincial Capitol compound will have its own building, dormitory and stockroom.

He said P17,641,281.42 have already been allotted for the construction of the satellite auditing office where all auditing in Bulacan will be processed.

“This will be the biggest satellite office of COA,” Aguinaldo said.
Alvarado, who joined Aguinaldo, Provincial Prosecutor Renato Samonte, Jr., and other ranking COA officials in the lowering of the time capsule containing the blueprint of the building, said that COA will now have a modern office in Bulacan.

“Katulad din ito ng pagtatanim na kung saan ipinupunla ang isang buto na dapat alagaan upang maging isang matibay na puno. Dito isisilang ang mga pangarap ng isang matinong pamamahala dahil sabi nga na public office is a public trust,” Alvarado said.

He said COA should not only be regulatory but also developmental in guiding government programs and procurement.
