CITY OF MALOLOS – In a bid to relive the spirit of volunteerism among the Bulakenyo youth, the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) through the Provincial Youth, Sports, Employment and Development Office (PYSEDO) will launch the Bulacan Youth Volunteer Network (BulacanYVNet) on October 14, 2015, 11:00 am at Balagtas Hall, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center, in this city.
Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said the program aims to develop positive citizenship and create an active youth network organization that will support and help the PGB in the implementation of programs that will benefit the Bulakenyos and to provide them with opportunities to share their capabilities towards community empowerment.
“Isang hamon para sa mga kabataan ang patunayan na sila ang pag-asa ng bayan. Sa pamamagitan ng pagbuo ng Bulacan Youth Volunteer Network ay lubos na maipapahayag ng mga kabataang Bulakenyo ang kanilang pagmamalasakit at pagmamahal sa bayan. Ito ang isa sa paraan ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan na mas pasiglahin ang diwa ng bolunterismo sa mga kabataan,” the governor said.
Alvarado also encourages the Bulakenyo youth to be an active member of the organization and be part of the solution to the problems of their community by participating in the programs of the PGB.
Provincial Youth, Sports, Employment and Development Officer Elizabeth Alonzo said that Bulakenyo youth who are interested to be a member should submit a filled out Individual Volunteer Registration Form to PYSEDO or to the Municipal/City Coordinator of their respective towns and cities.
Alonzo also said that members of the BulacanYVNet will receive benefits including membership identification card, free training skills, health cards, discount on selected establishments and the benefit of being one of the priorities of the PGB in different livelihood and training programs.
She also added that volunteers can choose from different areas of engagement that they prefer including the field of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management; Environment; Employment and Entrepreneurship; Peace and Order; Sports, History, Arts, Culture and Tourism; Health and Nutrition; and Education and Values Formation.
Meanwhile, National Youth Commissioner Jose Sixto “Dingdong” Dantes III is expected to grace the event as the guest speaker that will surely add inspiration to young Bulakenyos.
