PGB strengthens LGUs to be competitive, investment-ready

CITY OF MALOLOS – The Provincial Government of Bulacan headed by Governor Daniel R. Fernando, through the Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PCEDO) brought together local investment leaders and development partners in a shared learning platform focused on strategic leadership, collaborative governance, and investor-friendly service during the Building High-Performing Local Investment Leaders: Strengthening LGUs for a Competitive and Investment-Ready Economy held at the Balagtas Hall, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city last Tuesday.

Participants including Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Officers (LEDIPOs), Business Permits and Licensing Officers (BPLOs), city and municipal planning and development officers, Department of Trade and Industry Region 3 and Bulacan, Central Luzon Growth Corridor Foundation, Inc., Department of the Interior and Local Government, Bulacan Environment and Natural Resources Office, Provincial Planning and Development Office, and PCEDO-Investment Promotion Unit gained practical perspectives on the evolving role of local investment leaders, leadership and cross-functional collaboration, investor expectations, strategic investment packaging, executive pitching, and integrated investment facilitation.

PCEDO Head Atty. Jayric L. Amil highlighted that the quality of an investor’s experience is influenced not only by the availability of investment opportunities, but also by how effectively an LGU and its development partners coordinate information, facilitate processes, address concerns, build investor confidence, and sustain a business- and investment-friendly environment.

“Iba-iba man po ang mga bayan at lungsod na ating pinanggalingan, alam ko pong iisa naman ang direksyon natin, ito po ay ang gawin pong mas competitive, mas investment-ready, at mas ready po sa opportunities ang Lalawigan ng Bulacan. Sa huli po, ang gusto po namin ay hindi investment, kundi po mas maraming trabaho, mas maunlad na economy para po sa ordinaryong Bulakenyo,” Amil said.

The training proper is composed of topics on The Strategic Role of the Modern Local Investment Leaders, Leadership that Creates Competitive LGUs, Building an Investor-Friendly discussed by Dr. Ronadel Bedia from GovLearn.PH; and The Investor’s Lens, Strategic Investment Packaging, Executive Pitching, and Integrated Investment Facilitation Roadmap and Priority Deliverables tackled by Rapha Jireh Flores from UrbanKey Global Advisory. ###
