PGB presents Bulacan Tourism Advocates

CITY OF MALOLOS – In a bid to further boost the tourism industry in Bulacan, the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office (PHACTO) presented the Bulacan Tourism Advocates this morning at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city.
The said Bulacan Tourism Advocates are composed of Tourism students from different colleges and universities in the province including ICI Santa Maria, ABE International Business College, Dr. Yanga’s Colleges, Baliwag University, La Consolacion University Philippines, Centro Escolar University, Bulacan State University and STI Balagtas and Baliwag.
Immediately after presenting the advocates in the first Monday Flag ceremony, they were sent to the Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center for briefing of their roles and election of officers.
“Bukod sa pangarap ninyong libutin ang mundo bilang mga tourism student, magkaisa tayo sa layuning palaguin ang industriya ng turismo. Sa murang edad, samahan ninyo kaming magbalangkas ng action plan na magagamit ng ating lalawigan upang hindi tayo maging dayuhan sa sarili nating bayan and in the end we can say that it’s really more fun in Bulacan,” Dr. Eliseo dela Cruz, head of the PHACTO said.
He also said that although Bulacan is known as the Gateway to the North, the province should not be only viewed as such because Bulacan has a lot to offer.
“Ilan ang dumadaan sa NLEX araw-araw? Ilan ang nagkakape sa NLEX araw-araw? Pero bakit hindi sila humihinto para i-appreciate ang Bulacan? We need more promotion. We are the land of thousand fiestas, ito ang ikinakalat natin ngayon. Bawat bayan, bawat barangay may fiesta dito and we need more of you to open their minds to voluntarily promote what is exciting and the adventures that they can find in Bulacan,” Dr. dela Cruz added.
Horeb dela Cruz, Tourism Ambassador and a student of CEU said that they are more than willing to help the industry which they chose to be in line with.
“Gusto natin dito ‘yung iba’t ibang festivals, ‘yung delicacies ma-promote. Sa pamamagitan nito mas maraming matutulungan terms of income, sa trabaho, because tourism creates jobs.
Bilang isang tourism ambassador, mas kikilalanin ko ang Bulacan sisimulan ko sa sarili ko hanggang makahikayat ako ng mas marami pa,” dela Cruz said.
