PGB, DILG to recognize top governing and cleanest LGUs in Bulacan
CITY OF MALOLOS- The efforts on good governance of municipalities and maintenance of a clean and green environment of barangays in Bulacan will be recognized as the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) award the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) and 2019 Gawad Parangal sa Kalinisan at Kaayusan sa Kapaligiran sa Barangay on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, 8 am at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city.
DILG-Region 3 Regional Director Dr. Julie J. Daquioag, together with Governor Daniel R. Fernando and acting Vice Gov. Erlene Luz Dela Cruz, is set to grace the said event.
Fernando said that barangays and municipalities, being the small units of government, are the breeding ground for local leaders therefore making them one of the most important unit of society.
“Sa barangay at mga bayan nagsisimula ang kaunlaran ng ating lalawigan. Kung sa mga nasasakupan pa lamang natin ay maayos na ang kapaligiran, mabuti ang pamamahala at kahanga-hanga ang paglilingkod bayan, makasisiguro ang mga Bulakenyo na sama-sama nating mararating ang magandang kinabukasan,” the governor said.
Coinciding the ceremony, Fernando will also deliver the fruits of his first 100 days as the local chief executive of the province.
The SGLG recognizes the good performance of local government units in transparency and accountability in the use of public funds, preparedness on challenges posed by disasters, sensitivity to the needs of vulnerable and marginalized sectors of society, implementation of health programs, investment and employment promotion, protection of constituency from threats to life and damage to property and safeguarding the integrity of the environment.
Meanwhile, the KKK sa Barangay is based on The People’s Agenda 10 of the PGB, which honors barangays that demonstrated zeal on achieving cleanliness and orderliness on their respective areas of jurisdiction.
