PCEDO eyes to make ‘Bayanihang Bulakenyo Financing Program’ more affordable for MSMEs, cooperatives

CITY OF MALOLOS — The Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PCEDO) of the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) have made another step to further improve the lives and businesses of Bulakenyo entrepreneurs as they focus on making the ‘Bayanihang Bulakenyo Financing Program’ more affordable for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and cooperatives in the province through a proposal that will increase their maximum loanable amounts.

PCEDO Head Atty. Jayric L. Amil made the announcement during the opening program of Tatak Singkaban Trade Fair on Tuesday, September 2, at Robinsons Place Malolos.

Amil added that the proposal aims to promote and make the Bayanihang Bulakenyo Financing Program more convenient and accessible to local business owners amidst inflation and changes in the purchasing power of the Philippine peso. However, he noted that the amount of increase is still up to the deliberation of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

The Bayanihang Bulakenyo Financing Program for Cooperatives and MSMEs or the Provincial Ordinance No. 94-2021 was implemented to provide financial assistance in the form of loans to boost productivity and potential of compliant businesses in Bulacan.

Currently, the maximum loanable amount for new borrowers is P50,000 (enterprise) and P100,000 (cooperatives), while renewal borrowers may loan a maximum amount of P150,000 (enterprise) and P300,000 (cooperatives).

He also invited Bulakenyo mall goers to visit different booths composed of 50 local MSMEs that showcase the province’s finest products, from handcrafted goods to unique locally made delicacies.

“Suportahan po natin ang ating mga lokal na produkto na talaga naman pong maipagmamalaki natin na isang Tatak Bulakenyo,” Amil said.

On the other hand, Governor Daniel R. Fernando, represented by Crispin De Luna, assured local entrepreneurs that the PGB will continue to create more opportunities to support and improve their businesses.

“Bilang pagpapahalaga sa inyong ipinamamalas na katatagan, sisiguraduhin ko po na ang inyong lingkod ay magbubuhos ng marami pang oportunidad sa inyo upang palaguin at pagyamanin pa ang inyong mga kabuhayan,” he said.

The trade fair is set to run until September 4 at Robinsons Place Malolos and will continue its second leg on September 8 to 14 in front of the Regional Trial Court Building at the Capitol Compound in this city, coinciding with the weeklong celebration of Singkaban Festival 2025.
