CITY OF MALOLOS - The Bulacan Polytechnic College through its BPC Hotel and Restaurant Services (HRS) team bagged the silver medal at the 2021 Bulacan Provincial Skills Competition held at the Regional Training Center Central Luzon, Tabang, Guiguinto, Bulacan last Thursday.

With the theme "Molding Champions, Rising Thru Challenges", the competition was spearheaded by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Bulacan Association of Technical Vocational Schools (BATVS) and Association of TVET Educators and Assessors in Bulacan (ATEAS).

BPC's Ejay V. Yanga won silver medal in the Cooking category and was awarded a Certificate of Recognition along with the HRS team headed by HRS Program Head Mel Balagtas, Ruel Magno, and Pia Dianco while BPC itself was recognized for supporting and actively participating in the competition.

Further, BPC President Atty. Joseph M. Inocencio also commended the BPC Team for their performance.

"Given the limited resources and preparation at this time of the pandemic, this achievement is testament to the uncompromising quality of education at BPC and the excellence of our instructors and our students. We also would like to thank the Provincial Government through Gov. Daniel Fernando and the Board of Trustees for their unconditional support to the College," Inocencio said.

Meanwhile, Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando said that the Provincial Government of Bulacan will continuously support programs that will help Bulakenyos in honing their skills and lauded all the participants for showcasing their talents by joining the competition.

Aside from the BPC, other vocational schools and training centers in the province participated in the competition and competed for other categories such as landscape gardening, hairdressing, information network cabling, fashion technology, restaurant services and others. ###
