CITY OF MALOLOS- With this year's Singkaban Festival celebration, Gov. Daniel R. Fernando said as he formally opened the weeklong celebration that the key to healing lies in the hands of every individual.

"Bilang isang sambayanan, magtulungan tayo at magkaisa.

The provincial chief executive also recalled the history behind the 35-year-old celebration as he highlighted the meaning of this year's theme that is 'Paglingon. Paghilom. Pagbangon.'

"In 1986, Bulacan started to celebrate the province's rich history and heritage that was called Linggo ng Bulacan. However, in 1997, the mother of all fiestas in the province evolved and began to be known as Singkaban Festival. Now, it has been two years since we began celebrating it through online platforms," Fernando shared.

The governor also said that even though Bulakenyos cannot celebrate the festivity just like the previous years, the true meaning of Singkaban Festival remains the same.

Fernando also led the ribbon cutting ceremonies of Singkaban Arc Exhibit, Bulakenyo Artists Art Exhibit, Museum Memorabilia Exhibit, and Bulacan Festival Costume Expo at the Hiyas ng Bulacan Museum in this city. ###
