CITY OF MALOLOS - A total of 605 Bulakenyo health workers have already been inoculated with two doses of Coronavirus vaccine giving them immunity against severe symptoms from the deadly virus; while 22,603 Bulakenyos were injected with their first dose of vaccine.

According to the report of Dr. Hjordis Marushka Celis, Provincial Health Officer II and Cluster Head of the Response Operations Cluster, during the Provincial Task Force on COVID-19 meeting held via Zoom application last night, the province of Bulacan already received 38,849 doses of vaccine for the first dose wherein 18,430 are AstraZeneca and 19,949 are CoronaVac from Sinovac Biotech; and 18,900 doses of Sinovac's vaccine for the second dose.

Also, Dr. Celis reported that COVID-19 laboratories in the province have already done 70,561 swab tests with a positivity rate of 16% or 11,083.
For his directive that was live fed on his Facebook page, Governor Daniel R. Fernando called on his fellow public servants to be the source of correct information for the benefit of all the Bulakenyos.

"Mahalaga po sa ating laban sa COVID-19 na labanan din natin ang maling impormasyon. Magtulungan na lamang po tayo at magkaisa imbes na magbatikusan tayo. Sa halip na pag-uusig sa kapwa, magdamayan tayo upang sama-sama nating malagpasan ang laban nating ito," the governor said.

He also cleared some accusations that the Provincial Government of Bulacan did not allocate funds for the advance order of vaccine saying that he followed the advice of the national government to spend the budget of the PGB on other projects as they have already allotted funds for the vaccination of the 70% of the Philippine population to create a herd immunity.

"Makakatulong po ba na itali ang public funds sa advance order na maaaring milyong piso ang aabutin samantalang may alokasyon naman ang pamahalaang nasyunal? Mismong national government ang nagsabi, baka masayang ang pondo ninyo diyan," added the governor.

As of April 7, 2021, the Province of Bulacan have 3,707 total number of active cases with 165 fresh cases, 44 late cases, 333 newly verified recoveries and 7 newly verified deaths.
