CITY OF MALOLOS- In full support of the campaign of the Department of Health against the spread of Measles and Polio in the country, Governor Daniel R. Fernando encourages Bulakenyo parents to vaccinate their children against the fatal diseases and participate on the Measles-Rubella Oral Polio Vaccine Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-OPV SIA) from February 1-28, 2021.

In this campaign, children ages nine months to 59 months old will be given added protection against Measles-Rubella; while new born babies up to 59 months old children will be given Oral Polio Vaccine whether they have been vaccinated before or not.

The province is targeting to vaccinate 279,886 Bulakenyo children for Measles-Rubella, and 327,626 for Oral Polio Vaccine.

According to Fernando, now that we are facing a pandemic, we are more aware of the benefits of vaccination as protection from different diseases.

Barangay Health Stations and Rural Health Units will designate a fixed vaccination post on each barangay that are roomy and where social distancing and other minimum health standards will still be observed. ###
