CITY OF MALOLOS- Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando reiterated his directives to follow strict implementation of health protocols amid the continuous downward trend of the Coronavirus Disease cases in the province during the recent Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force on COVID-19 meeting held through Virtual Teleconference last Friday, December 11, 2020.

According to the report of the Provincial Health Office-Public Health, Bulacan posed a 15% decrease in the number of cases since mobility week number 35 from August 26 to September 1, 2020.

The governor attributed the decrease to the fast and responsive campaign of the Provincial Government of Bulacan against the deadly virus including strict implementation of health protocols, building of COVID facilities, thorough contact tracing and aggressive information dissemination campaign.

To date, 25,344 swab tests were done in the province.

Although there is a continuous decline on the number of cases, the governor directed members of the IATF to further strengthen implementation of guidelines especially this Christmas season as to prevent possible increase on the number of cases.

"Mayroon pa rin pong COVID. Bumababa po ang kaso pero hindi ibig sabihin nito ay lubusan na nating natalo ang virus. Kaya naman nananawagan po ako sa lahat na mas lalo tayong magbantay, lalo tayong maghigpit, dahil oras na magpabaya tayo, baka bumalik ang virus sa atin," the governor instructed.

He commanded the Bulacan PNP through Bulacan Provincial Police Office PCol. Lawrence Cajipe to conduct border monitoring and to watch out for those who may violate health protocols by conducting Christmas parties and other mass gatherings.

He also reminded the Department of Trade and Industry to check out the malls in the province to see if they are only allowing ages 15 to 65 inside their premises.

As of today, December 14, 2020, there are 502 active cases in the province, 8,844 recoveries, and 358 deaths totaling to 9,704 verified COVID-19 cases. ###
