Grateful for the help - Bulacan receives thousands of donations from various donors

CITY OF MALOLOS - On behalf of the Bulakenyos, the Provincial Government of Bulacan headed by Gov. Daniel R. Fernando and Vice Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado extend their appreciation to all the donors who have reached out and donated goods to help the province in its battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Rowena J. Tiongson, the PGB received donations from various companies and organizations including 20,000 bottles of 500 ml. mineral water from Nature's Spring; 10,000 pieces of salted egg from Cherwin Egg Trading; 5,373 sacks of rice, 2,634 boxes of sardines, 2,102 boxes of instant noodles and pancit canton, 420 boxes of instant coffee and 324 boxes of crackers from ABS-CBN Foundation; 2,500 packs of rice from the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Inc. - Binondo; 520 sacks of rice from San Miguel Corporation; 1,000 loaf breads from Marby's Philippines; 200 boxes of sardines, 96 boxes Chinese luncheon meat and 78 boxes of instant coffee from San Miguel Foundation; and Tabing Ilog Market Corporation which donated 200 sacks of rice weighing 25 kilos each.

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) also donated 1,000 relief goods, 200 sacks of rice, 80 boxes of sardines, 55 boxes of noodles and another 22 sacks of food packs; Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) gave 5 boxes for pregnant women and 4 boxes of ready to use food for children; while the Philippine Plastic Industry Association donated 100 pieces of coverall personal protective equipment for the COVID-19 frontliners.

Other individuals namely Senator Sherwin Gatchalian donated a total of 250 sacks of rice, 20 boxes of noodles and 20 boxes of sardines; Senator Grace Poe of Bayanihan ni Panday contributed 100 sacks of rice weighing 50 kilos each; Congresswoman Bernadette Herrera-Dy of Bagong Henerasyon Party-list donated 50 sacks of rice, 8 boxes of gloves and 8 boxes of face shields; Filipino-Chinese Chamber President Arthur Dy gave 356 sacks of rice; Mr. Al Tengco donated 200 sacks of rice; Mr. Edmon Lee contributed 150 sacks of rice weighing 25 kilos each; Mr. Benny Raymundo gave 100 sacks of rice; Mr. and Mrs. Acer Mendoza donated 100 bottles of buko juice; Arch. Bryan gave 50 pieces face shields; Mr. Bayani Cruz donated 35 coverall PPEs; Dr. Barbara Gatiera donated 10 boxes of aerosol; and Senator JV Ejercito who contributed 5 boxes of aerosol.

In addition, the CBCP also donated 80 coverall PPEs and 2 boxes of gloves while, 6 boxes of feminine wash, 5 boxes food supplement for pregnant women, 4 boxes of ready to use food packs for children, 2 boxes of latex gloves, and 2 boxes of calcium carbonate were also donated through Bishop Dennis Villarojo of CBCP; Department of Science and Technology donated 75 pieces of N95 masks, 64 liters of alcohol, 60 face shields, and 40 coverall PPEs; Rotary Club and Inner Wheel Club of Santa Maria gave 75 coverall PPEs, 50 face shields and 5 containers of alcohol; UST Medical Alumni Association donated 60 pieces of N95 masks, 10 coverall PPEs and 2 boxes of gloves; Bulakan Rural Health Unit contributed with 50 UTM; Ginebra San Miguel gave 40 containers of alcohol; College of Arts and Letters of Bulacan State University gave 30 coverall PPEs; Mirasol Outreach Foundation, Inc. donated 20 coverall PPEs and 3 boxes of gloves; Chowking-City of Meycauayan branch gave 12 pieces of food packs; and 2 boxes of ice cream from Philippine Red Cros-Bulacan.

Other food donations and PPEs were also received at the Bulacan Incident Command Post such as 2,500 face masks, 60 N95 masks, 50 boxes of ascorbic acid, 24 boxes of gloves, 24 ear thermometer, 22 RDT testing kits and 20 boxes of multivitamins donated by the Department of Health; 1,000 face masks and 30 gallons of alcohol donated by the Rotary Club of Santa Maria; 1,000 face masks and 10 containers of alcohol from Bulacan State University; 700 pieces of packed lunch from AFS Eatery; 500 face masks and 50 coverall PPEs from the Levy P. Laus Foundation, Inc.; 500 face shields from Atty. J. Cabochan of Club Bulakenyo, Inc.; 450 face shields, 100 coverall PPEs and 3 boxes of aerosol from Inner Wheel Club of Santa Maria; 432 Universal Transport Media (UTM) from Philippine Department of Health and 94 UTM from DOH-Region 3; 200 face masks from Mr. Robert Bryan Arevalo, Ms. Dyan Abaring and Ms. Jheramea Sto. Tomas; 198 coverall PPEs from Diocese of Malolos; 150 face shields, 100 face masks and 100 coverall PPEs donated by the BSU MFE Student, Alumni and Faculty; 150 face shields from St. Mary's Academy of Baliwag; 120 pouches of turmeric tea from Jedidiah Food Industry; 100 face shields and 100 coverall PPEs from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)-Bulacan and another 100 face masks from DENR-Region 3.

Meanwhile, Fernando assured that the donations received by the PGB will reach the Bulakenyos.

"Ang mga donasyon po na ating natanggap ay sinisiguro kong makakarating sa ating mga kalalawigan. Maraming, maraming salamat po sa mga nagkaloob ng kanilang tulong. Makakaya po natin ang lahat ng mga pagsubok kapag tayo ay magtutulungan at gagabay sa bawat isa," the governor said.

As of 4 pm today, the Bulacan Provincial Health Office-Public Health Surveillance Team has reported 123 confirmed positive cases with 35 recoveries and 26 deaths.
