US Trade and Investment Mission opens new doors for business in Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS – The province of Bulacan and the United States of America are now partners in eyeing for a better future.

After signing the memorandum of cooperation, local entrepreneurs in Bulacan and in the United States began to see the light in creating business with each other during the US Trade and Investment Mission in Central Luzon yesterday held at the BarCIE International Center, La Consolacion University in this city.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado expressed his gratefulness for the event that promotes stronger economic ties between the two nations.

“I greatly admire the spirit of the chambers and mostly economic initiative and business opportunities with our local entrepreneurs thereby increase investment between our two countries. By working together, we can achieve great dreams and this will light us in the most beneficial and profitable direction,” Alvarado said.

The governor also invited the delegate to see more of Bulacan.

“In your visit, discover what we have to offer coupled with our willingness to collaborate with you. Together we will create a more caring world. Let us strive to build fair, prosperous and inclusive society of which opportunities and excellence go hand in hand,” Alvarado added.

Mr. Gus Mercado, head of the mission and Executive Director of the Federation of Philippine Chamber of Commerce (FPACC), said they may be residing in the US but deep inside they are all pusong pinoy.

“It is with great pride and honor to introduce this visionary delegate that came from 12 states in this great historic mission with a firm objective to help boost the Philippine economy while enjoying the company of friends, business associates and partners. Masayang masaya po kami for the warm welcome of the Bulakenyos and we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship,” Mercado said.

Concepcion Olarte of Pennsylvania also said that she’s seeing potentials in having business in Bulacan.

“Very friendly ang mga taga-Bulacan, it’s a very nice place. Nakahanap na kami ng possible business partner, kasi we import sa Korea pa ng mga machine part kaya mas mainam na dito na sa Philippines, makakatulong pa kami sa mga kababayan natin,” Olarte shared.

A native of Pangasinan who is now based in San Francisco also expressed his interest in doing business in the province.

“In the US, I’m in to insurance and real estate business. Matagal akong ‘di nakauwi and pagbalik ko everything changed. Marami akong nakausap tungkol sa business and it’s very interesting,” Arturo Sacman said.

Before the meeting, the delegate had a tour at the Philippine Arena, Provincial Capitol building and the Bulacan Pasalubong Center. ###
