PGB continues its fight against illegal meat trade

CITY OF MALOLOS – The Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) through the Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) has intensified its commitment to ensure healthy and safe meat consumption of every Bulakenyos as part of the celebration of Meat Safety Consciousness Week this cheap hublot replica coming October 20-24, 2014.

Anchored on the theme, “Kaligtasan ng Mamamayan at Katuwang sa Kalakalan,” the PGB in cooperation with the local government units are all set to increase checkpoints and conduct series of meat monitoring and inspection in different public markets and slaughterhouses in Bulacan.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said they will conduct series of meat inspection with the help of PVO, Bulacan Provincial Police Office, and Provincial Public Safety Company to assure the Bulakenyos that the meat and meat products they buy are safe, fit for human consumption, and free from any contamination.

“We are working hand in hand to continue to enforce and intensify our battle against the illegal trading of double-dead meat in the province and we will continue to safeguard the public’s health by strict monitoring and inspection of meat and meat products in the markets,” the governor said.

Alvarado said the celebration aims to create public awareness about the government’s vigorous efforts to ensure healthy, sanitary and safe practices in the production and consumption of meat and meat products in the replica tag heuer watches country.

Meanwhile, Provincial Veterinarian Voltaire Basinang said the provincial ordinance otherwise known as the Provincial Hot Meat Ordinance, an ordinance prohibiting the transportation and distribution of double-dead meat, is strictly being implemented with the cooperation of the PGB.

Basinang also reminded everyone that vehicles carrying meats should have Livestock Handlers License from the Department of Agriculture and animal traders should also have Veterinary Health Certificate from licensed veterinarians with shipping permits from the PVO.

He also advised the public to look for the seal of inspection and meat inspection certificate before buying from any meat vendor.

The celebration is pursuant to the Proclamation No. 276 signed by former president Fidel V. Ramos, declaring every third week of October as Meat Safety Consciousness Week which is the stepping stone of the government to fulfill a vision of a healthy and better life for every Filipino. ###
