Almost 4,000 Bulakenyos unite for March for Faith, Walk for Jesus

DIVINE PROVIDENCE FOR BULACAN. Different religious group leaders in Bulacan pray over Gov. Wilhelmino M. CITY OF MALOLOS – In solidarity with the spirit of Lenten Season, the Provincial Government of Bulacan in cooperation with the March for Jesus Philippines and Four Pillars of Bulacan held the March for Faith, Walk for Jesus Christ, April 12, 2014 in this city.

Almost 4,000 Bulakenyos from different religious groups, Zumba Group Fitnesse Association, Bulacan Police, Bulacan State University and Bulacan Polytechnic College and the Department of Education- Malolos gathered and united to pray for the province’s betterment.

Headed by Bulacan Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado and different religious group leaders, the prayer march started at 5:30am in Bulacan State University Activity Center and ended at the Provincial Capitol Gymnasium where the program proper took place.

“Magkakaiba man tayo ng mga relihiyon at paniniwala, pinagbubuklod naman tayo ng iisang mithiin at pananalig sa Panginoong Diyos na tayo ay kanyang patnunubayan at ililigtas sa anumang kapahamakan,” said Alvarado.

The governor also said that placing faith in Jesus Christ have the benefits of being at peace with God and that the people can surpass everything including trials and problems.

Bishop Rufino “Bernie” Malitao IV, March for Jesus National Chairman, grace the event as the guest speaker who stated that nothing is impossible to God and it’s about time for the province to unite and praise Jesus.

Meanwhile, different religious group leaders led the prayers for Seven Point Development Agenda of Bulacan including Rev. Cesar Sacdalan for Alliance for Values Formation in Bulacan (Health), Rev. Joel Lombos for CADENCE- Bulacan (Education), Bishop Bert Chan of the Baptist Church (Nature and Environment), Fr. Gino Herrera for the Roman Catholic (Good Governance), Cong. Sherwin Tugna for Jesus Is Lord (Peace and Order), Bishop Ephraim Perez for Inter-faith Bulacan (Livelihood) and Rev. Fr. Reynaldo Tallara for Iglesia Filipina Independiente- Aglipayan (History and Culture).

Bishop Ted Malangen of the Jesus Christ the Deliverer immediately followed and led the victory declaration of the event.

Aside from the said prayer march, PGB also launched the Bulacan Prayer Movement that aims to have a concrete number of members that will represent the province in every activity with regard to religion and faith.

The successful prayer march ended with the Zumba Exercises of the Provincial Youth, Sports, Employment, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office which is free and open to all Bulakenyos. ###
