CITY OF MALOLOS – The contestants from the Nazareth Home for Children from Bustos, Bulacan took home P10,000 grand prize as they emerged champions during the Virtual Cultural Dance Contest awarding ceremony via Zoom application today.
Governor Daniel R. Fernando congratulated the winners and highlighted the importance of continuing the tradition of honoring the culture of Bulakenyos amidst the ongoing pandemic.
“Sa pamamagitan po ng pagpapakita ng mga sayaw na ito na mula sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng lalawigan ay masasalamin natin ang tunay na ugali at gawi ng mga Bulakenyo sa iba’t ibang yugto ng kasaysayan. At sa pamamagitan po ng mga katutubong sayaw sa ating virtual competition ay magdulot nawa ng sigla at pag-asa sa mga manunuod at makasumpong nawa tayo ng inspirasyon para po sa muli nating pagbangon,” the governor said.
Meanwhile, Chito Madrigal Foundation from the City of San Jose del Monte was awarded as 1st runner up and given P8,000 cash prize, while Willing Hearts Orphanage, Inc. from Santa Maria won as 2nd runner up and received P5,000 cash prize.
Consolation prizes worth P3,000 each were also given to non-winners.
The Virtual Cultural Dance Contest was organized by the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office in partnership with the Area-Based Standards Network of Bulacan as part of the weeklong celebration of Singkaban Festival 2021 with the theme “Paglingon. Paghilom. Pagbangon.” ###
