CITY OF MALOLOS – ‘King Wa Ang Naglahong Kaharian ng Quingua’ bagged the Best Documentary and Best Research awards during the “Sineliksik Bulacan Docufest 2018” awarding ceremony held at the Cinema 1 of SM City Baliwag, Baliwag, Bulacan last Thursday, September 13, 2018.
In total, the AADG Film went home with P130,000 cash prize and two trophies for their documentary featuring the St. James the Apostle Parish Church in Plaridel, Bulacan.
During his acceptance speech, Andrew Alto De Guzman, the researcher and director of the winning piece, thanked the persons who helped him and his team in making the documentary.
“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa proyektong ito dahil napakabanal ng layunin nito upang ma-preserve at ma-conserve ang ating mga pamanang kultural. Magtulung-tulong tayo na pangalagaan, una, ang ating kalikasan bilang pagkain ng ating sikmura at pangalagaan din ang ating pamanang kultural bilang pagkain ng ating kaluluwa,” said De Guzman.
Also, Estasyong Itinangi(s) won the Best Cinematography, Special Jury Prize and Best Poster and received a total of P55,000 cash prize, two trophies and a certificate of recognition; while Aguas Potables Ang Tore ng Malolos snatched the Audience Choice award and was given P15,000 cash prize and a trophy; and Nagtatago Yaman at Kasaysayan Ako ang Tahanan ni Dr. Luis Uitangcoy Santos got the Best Trailer award and received P5,000 cash prize and a certificate of recognition.
The second year of the Sineliksik Bulacan Docufest 2018 with the theme “Pamana ng Lahi, Yamang aking Ipinagmamalaki” aimed to have a comprehensive research about Bulacan’s built heritage.
It was a project of the Provincial Government of Bulacan headed by Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado and Vice Gov. Daniel R. Fernando through the Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office, Film Development Council of the Philippines, National Commission for Culture and the Arts, and the National Historical Commission of the Philippines.
