Bulacan gov urges Bulakenyos to participate in Takbo para sa Kalikasan 2
CITY OF MALOLOS – No less than Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando is encouraging the Bulakenyos to participate in the upcoming Takbo Para sa Kalikasan 2 2019 fun run in partnership with the Department of Interior and Local Government with the theme ‘Philippines Run in Support of the Battle for Manila Bay’ this coming November 10, 2019.
The fun run will commence at 4 am at the Bulacan Sports Complex in Brgy. Bagong Bayan (Sta. Isabel) here as its starting point.
It aims to spread awareness in terms of rehabilitating the coastal areas wherein the 3K U-turn run will end at the Dunlop repair shop at McArthur Highway in Brgy. San Pablo while the 5K U-turn run will end at Tikay Elementary School and the 10K U-turn run will end in front of the Bulacan Polytechnic College and back to the starting point.
According to acting Provincial Youth, Sports and Public Employment Officer Jayson Vinta, more or less 15,000 participants are expected to run and winners will be awarded with cash prizes, medals and trophies for each category.
Red Cross Philippines-Bulacan Chapter and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office will also collaborate in the marathon to ensure the safety of the runners.
Meanwhile, Fernando said that fun run will not only benefit one’s health but also the environment.
“Napaka-gandang ideya ng fun run na ito dahil hindi lamang ang kalusugan natin ang mabebenepisyuhan kundi mapapangalagaan din natin ang ating kapaligiran lalo na ang mga coastal area sa pamamagitan ng pagpapakalat ng mga kaalaman tungkol dito,” the governor said.
Interested participants may proceed to the Livelihood Center, Capitol Compound or at the Bulacan Sports Complex in Brgy. Sta. Isabel to register for free until October 25, 2019.
