Hakbang para sa Kabataan to raise funds for OSYs, sports development in Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS – The Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial Youth, Sports, Employment and Development Office (PYSEDO) is hopeful to raise more funds from the Hakbang para sa Kabataan 2016 activity to be held on September 9 at 6 am for the implementation of programs and projects for out of school youths (OSY) and sports development in the province.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that the previous collected funds were allocated to sports programs, athletes’ incentives, Pag-asa Youth livelihood programs, leadership and team buildings, and regional general assembly.

“Makiisa po tayong lahat sa walk for a cause na ito sapagkat ang magbebenepisyo po dito ay mga kabataang Bulakenyo na walang sapat na kakayahan upang paunlarin ang kanilang mga sarili. Sa tulong po ninyo, malilinang ang kanilang mga kakayahan at mabibigyan sila ng pagkakataong umunlad ang buhay,” ani Alvarado.

According to the PYSEDO, the activity raised a total of P1 million pesos last year and they are looking forward to beat that record this year.

“Every year we dream big. Gusto natin mapantayan o mahigitan ’yung mga achievements natin nung nakaraan, dahil alam nating marami ang umaasa at mabebenepisyuhan nito. Once a year we witness the youth gather and unite for the walk for a cause dahil alam nila at naiintindihan nila na meron silang magagawa para sa mas magandang hinaharap,” PYSEDO Head Elizabeth Alonzo said.

More than 5,000 participants are expected to take part in the walk for a cause including government officials and employees, high school and college students from different schools in Malolos, Bulacan and OSYs which will start from Barasoain Church and Santisima Trinidad Elementary School and both ending at the Tanghalan ng Sining at Kultura, Capitol Compound in this city.

A short program will follow after the walk.
