CITY OF MALOLOS – The town of Hagonoy was hailed as the Best Festive Float in the float competition dubbed as “Parada ng Karosa” yesterday, September 8, 2015 at 1:00 in the afternoon that started from Provincial Capitol Compound and ended at the Bulacan Sports Complex in this city.
The float depicted the Palaisdaan Festival that symbolizes the rich marine resources as well as the cultural and religious tradition of the municipality.
Pandi town landed on the second spot wherein their float showcased the trademark of the municipality as the ‘wave pool capital’ of the country while the third place went to City of Meycauayan for their float that reflected the title of being the ‘hub of jewelry production’ in the Philippines and Asia.
According to Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office (PHACTO), organizer of the said competition, winners received P50,000 for the first place, P30,000 for the second place and P20,000 for the third place and certificate of participation for all the participants.
Meanwhile, Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado lauded all the participants who joined the competition for their unwavering support and in giving importance in the culture and tradition of their respective towns.
“Hindi po biro ang sumali sa kumpetisyong ito dahil puspusang paghahanda ang kinakailangan kaya naman binabati ko ang lahat ng lumahok sa inyong palagiang pakikiisa sa mga programa ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan lalo na tuwing Singkaban Festival. Sana po ay ipagpatuloy ninyo ang pagtatampok sa inyong makukulay at mayamang kultura at tradisyon”, Alvarado said.
