SINEliksik Year 4 to feature well-known artists of Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS- The colorful lives and amazing works of Bulakenyo artists in the seven forms of arts including architecture, theater, music, literature, movie, dance and visual arts will be the topic of this year’s SINEliksik Bulacan Docufest 2020 anchored on the theme “Alagad ng Sining na Bulakenyo, Dangal ng Lahing Pilipino.”

In an aim to have a comprehensive research and visual reference of the contributions of Bulakenyo artists in the arts and culture of the province and of the country, the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office (PHACTO) launched on Monday, February 10, 2020, the fourth year of the docufest coinciding the National Arts Month celebration.

Governor Daniel R. Fernando said that arts played a significant role on carving the province’s own identity on the rich history and culture of the Philippines.

“Hangad natin na magsilbing inspirasyon ang mga Bulakenyong Bayani ng Sining at Pambansang Alagad ng Sining na itatampok natin sa taong ito upang lalong yumabong ang pagmamahal ng mga Pilipino sa sining na hindi maitatanggi ang kahalagahan sa pang-araw-araw nating pamumuhay,” the governor said.

Interested Bulakenyos may choose from the list of Bulakenyo artists provided by PHACTO including Francisco Balagtas, Jose Corazon de Jesus, Florentino Collantes, Nicanor Abelardo, Francisco Santiago, Constancio de Guzman, Francisco Buencamino, Sr., Emilio Mar-Antonio, Dr. Jose R. Perez, Francisca Reyes-Aquino, Amado V. Hernandez, Guillermo E. Tolentino, Gerardo de Leon, Honorata dela Rama, Antonino R. Buenaventura, Ernani Cuenco, Jose T. Joya, Virgilio S. Almario, and Alice Reyes.

Also, those who wants to join the competition will need to submit the completely filled-up registration form together with their research paper, storyline, treatment, production members’ valid identification cards, updated profile of the director, writer and researcher and latest sample works at the PHACTO until March 31, 2020.

Awards to be given away include P100,000 worth of cash prize for the documentary that will be recognized as the Best Documentary Film, the Special Jury Prize that will take home P50,000, the Best Research who will receive P30,000, and Best Sound Design, Best Cinematography and Best Editing will be given P20,000 cash prize each.
