Gintong Kabataan Awards now open for nominations

CITY OF MALOLOS – The nomination is now open for the Provincial Government of Bulacan’s annual search for outstanding youth known as Gintong Kabataan Awards (GKA) that aims to recognize Bulakenyo youth who have excelled in their respective fields, and to inspire and empower others to live to their fullest potential.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado encourages all the Bulakenyos to submit their nominations in various categories including public service, arts and culture, sports (individual and group); academics (high school and college levels), labor (professional and skilled workers), legislation (SK officials, Federation SK President and SK Council), entrepreneur, and Gintong Kabataang Bayani.

The governor also encourages the support of local government units and other organizations in the province by submitting their nominees.

As part of the requirements, the nominees must be a Bulakenyo or a resident in the province for three years with age ranging from 15 to 35 years old and must be nominated by an individual or institution.

The recent awardees of GKA are no longer allowed to join in the nomination to give opportunity to other deserving Bulakenyo youth to be recognized by the PGB.

Moreover, the Provincial Youth, Sports, Employment and Developnent Office (PYSEDO), the awards secretariat, said that nominations will be accepted until April 29, 2016 at their office in Gusaling Gat Blas F. Ople, Capitol Compound in this city.
