CITY OF MALOLOS – Exceptional Bulakenyas will once again be recognized by the Provincial Government of Bulacan through Gawad Medalyang Ginto in line with the observance of National Women’s Month on March 14, 2016, 1:00 pm at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city.
With this year’s theme “Babaeng Hinog sa Panahon, Huwaran sa Pagsulong”, the said awards program aims to acknowledge and give due recognition to the important contributions and worthy achievements of the women of Bulacan, who serve as inspiration and implementers of programs for the betterment of women.
According to the Panlalawigang Komisyon para sa mga Kababaihan ng Bulacan (PKKB), winners will be given recognitions as Natatanging Babae, Natatanging Samahang Pangkababaihan, Matagumpay na Babaeng Mangangalakal, Matagumpay na Ginang na OFW, Matagumpay na Babaeng Makakalikasan at Huwarang Kabataang Babae sa Pamumuno.
The awardees will bring home trophies and cash incentives amounting to P20,000 for the Natatanging Babae, P30,000 for the Natatanging Samahang Pangkababaihan and P10,000 each for the remaining categories.
Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that aside from being the ‘light of the home’ women of today continues to excel in different fields thus being able to contribute to the nation’s progress.
“Marapat po lamang na ang mga kababaihan, lalo’t higit ang mga Bulakenya ay ating parangalan sapagkat hindi po biro ang kanilang mga sakripisyo at pagpupursigi para sa kanilang mga pamilya at para sa ikaaunlad ng kanilang pamayanan at bansa. Dahil po diyan, tunay na ako’y saludo sa kanila,” Alvarado said.
Meanwhile, Cong. Linabelle R. Villarica is expected to grace the event as the guest speaker.
The celebration of Women’s Month and Gawad Medalyang Ginto in Bulacan started in 1996 in accordance with Executive Order No. 96-07 and has already awarded 99 Bulakenyas.
