Provincial Government of Bulacan

Fernando pushes for ‘duty and people first’ type of governance

CITY OF MALOLOS – On his first day of work as the provincial chief executive, Governor Daniel R. Fernando underscored that his administration will be about serving the public first and prioritizing duty over personal activities.

The ‘People’s Governor’ also laid his plans for his first term during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium here and urged his fellow public servants to cooperate, support and work hand in hand with him as he implements his medium-and long-term developmental goals.

“Tayo ay sama-samang magbabalangkas ng commitment, The People First Policy.

Some of the new governor’s immediate projects for implementation includes Mobile Blood Centers where he will allocate two buses that will go around the province to be able to reach and encourage more blood donors thus resulting to an increased blood collection ; continuous Scholarship Program that will now include senior high schools; a well-designed Night Market where Bulakenyos may showcase their products and also shop for other products just like in Singapore and Japan and the Bulacan Resident ID that can be used to avail benefits intended for Bulakenyos.

He will also focus on providing universal health care for Bulakenyos by making sure that medicines, additional medical equipment and competent medical practitioners will be readily available in public hospitals in the province, most specially at the Bulacan Medical Center.

Moreover, Fernando also announced that he will be making some changes in the Capitol but assured all the employees that as much as possible, he will not fire anyone. However, he expects everyone to take their jobs seriously, hence, a monitoring team in each department will be created.

He also added that department heads must go to work on time and approved locator slips must be presented when they are on official business.

Tapos na po ang halalan but our work never stops,” the governor emphasized
