Fernando implements curfew, liquor ban anew in Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS- Starting today, the Province of Bulacan will implement curfew hours again from 11:00 pm to 4:00 am; and province-wide liquor ban including the sale, transport, and consumption of liquor and other intoxicating beverages in an aim to halt the surge of COVID-19 cases in the province.

According to the Executive Order No. 8, series of 2021 issued by Governor Daniel R. Fernando, border quarantine checkpoints will recommence and will implement border control policies in order to effectively contain COVID-19 at the critical areas of the province.

All these on top of the mandatory observance of minimum public health standards including physical distancing, hand hygiene, cough etiquette, and wearing of face masks and face shields at all times.

Fernando said that these simple steps can make a huge difference in our fight against COVID-19.

“Nakaya na po nating pababain ang kaso ng COVID sa ating lalawigan at naniniwala po ako na makakaya muli natin itong magawa. Basta tayo ay magtulungan, sumunod sa mga health protocols at makiisa sa ating pamahalaan upang sa pagkakataong ito ay tuluyan na nating mapuksa ang virus na ito,” the governor said.

He also sought for the help of the law enforcement agencies including the Philippine National Police and Armed Forces of the Philippines to provide necessary assistance to ensure that health protocols are being followed.

The said Executive Order will take effect until April 17, 2021.

As of March 16, 2021, the Province of Bulacan has 1,175 total active cases with 92 fresh cases, 52 late cases, 58 newly-verified recoveries, and 5 newly-verified deaths. ###
