Fernando bares plans to further improve agriculture in Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS- Governor Daniel R. Fernando bared his future plans for the agriculture sector of Bulacan to further improve food security during the “Awarding and Distribution of High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) Interventions for Farmers Affected by Typhoon Quinta and Ulysses” held inside the Capitol Compound in this city this morning.

Aside from the Farmer’s Training School, Fernando mentioned the plan of building the Bulacan Farmer’s Productivity Center and Provincial Government Multiplier and Breeding Center in a 25-hectare land located in Doña Remedios Trinidad to equip the farmers on new the technology on farming.

“We need to improve our agriculture. Palalakasin natin ito at hihikayatin ang mga kabataan na mag-focus sa farming. Kailangan natin palakasin ang agrikultura at ang pangingisda dahil iyan lamang ang pagkukuhanan natin in case of emergency. Kailangan natin tutukan ang pagkain: ang gulay, palay, bigas, hayop at isda,” the governor said.

He also called on the farmers to teach their children to farm to sustain the agriculture sector.

“Hindi pwedeng puro abroad. Nasa Bulacan po ang yaman. Kung magsisikap po tayo pare-parehas, hindi tayo magugutom. Wag po kayong mag-alala, nakaalalay ang Provincial Government sa inyo at tutulungan namin kayo sa abot ng aming makakaya,” he added.

The Provincial Government of Bulacan distributed eight units of Shallow Tube Well to eight Farmers Cooperative Associations (FCAs); and 71 pieces of Fish Coolers to 6 FCAs.

On the other hand, 14 FCAs received 590 Plastic Crates; and another 14 FCAs from 14 municipalities were given various vegetable seeds from the Department of Agriculture fund. ###
