DOLE, PGB, grant business starter kits to 720 Bulakenyos

CITY OF MALOLOS – A total of 720 Bulakenyos received pangkabuhayan starter kits from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) through the Provincial Youth Sports and Public Employment Service Office (PYSPESO) during the “Employment Coordinators (BTEC) Mass Oath Taking and General Assembly and Awarding of DOLE Livelihood Project and Barangay Training” held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium last Friday, November 23, 2018.

The said livelihood project includes 400 grocery kits, 100 Negokarts, 100 ovens for trainees of Provincial Livelihood Training Center (PLTC) NC II Bread and Pastry, 70 candle and soap kit and 50 food processing kits.

Ilocos Norte Governor Maria Imelda Josefa “Imee” Marcos admired the activity and the presence of active labor and small business in the leadership of creative of men and women.

“Tuwang-tuwa ako na makapiling ang mga kababaihan na masisipag at malikhain na mga negosyante ng Bulacan. Ang sabi nila, ang pinakamahusay daw mag-negosyo dito sa Bulacan ay ‘yong mga kababaihan. Kung ang kape ay 3-in-1, kayong mga narito ay labis labis ang trabaho. 9-in-1 pa. Asawa, anak, nanay, lola, lider, BHW volunteer, negosyante, kalipi, kaibigan, at marami pang iba,” Marcos said.

Meanwhile, Acting Governor Daniel R. Fernando stated that the project is not just for the resource of the beneficiaries’ families but also for the good of helping communities and of the country.

“Katulad nga ng kasabihan, ‘bigyan mo ang isang tao ng isda at makakakain siya ng isang araw, subalit, turuan mo siyang mangisda at hindi siya magugutom habambuhay.’ Kaya’t pinahahalagahan ng ating pamahalaang panlalawigan ang inyong pagpupunyagi’t paghahangad na magkaroon ng sapat na kita upang tustusan ang inyong mga pangangailangan sa halip na umasa lamang sa tulong ng ibang tao”, said Fernando.

He also added that after the awarding of the kits, interview and evaluation will be conducted to know if the kits, used as capitals, have prosper and maintained.
