DA-PhilMech grants various agricultural machineries to the province of Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS – A total of 44 farmer cooperatives and associations (FCAs) and local government in Bulacan received certificates of award for Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Farm Machinery of the Department of Agriculture during the “Provincial Turn-over of Agricultural Machinery for the Province of Bulacan under the RCEF Mechanization Program” held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium here this morning.

Included in the 57 units that were given to beneficiaries were 26 Four-wheel Tractors, 18 Rice Combine Harvesters, 5 Hand Tractors, 3 Riding-type Transplanters, 2 Rice Reapers, 2 Rice Threshers, and 1 PTO Driven Disc Plow/Harrow.

Governor Daniel R. Fernando led the distribution of the said farm machineries with Deputy Director Engr. Don David Julian of the Department of Agriculture-PhilMech and representatives of Sec. William Dar, Regional Executive Director Crispulo Bautista, Jr. of DAR Region 3 and Mrs. Leony Marquez for Senator Cynthia Villar as well as Congressmen Lorna Silverio and Gavini Pancho.

“Patuloy po tayong nakikipagtulungan sa Department of Agriculture at sa iba’t ibang ahensya ng pamahalaan para sa tuluy-tuloy na pag-asenso ng agrikultura sa ating lalawigan tungo sa masaganang kinabukasan ng magsasaka at ng lalawigan,” Fernando said.

He said, the distributed units will be a big help to the farmers and he believes that it will increase the farmers’ production, income as well as the quality of their outputs.
Also, the construction of Farmers Training Center located at the Capitol Compound is ongoing to continuously enhance the skills of Bulakenyo farmers. ###
