Contenders from Bocaue and Bulakan win Hari at Reyna ng Singkaban titles
CITY OF MALOLOS – Hari ng Bocaue Lewis Viel Marcelo and Reyna ng Bulakan Lady Justerinnie Santos were hailed as the first-ever Hari at Reyna ng Singkaban title holders during the “Hari at Reyna ng Singkaban Coronation Night” held at Barasoain Church in this city, Monday night.
The newly-crowned king and queen, who will serve as the ambassador and ambassadress of goodwill to their fellow Bulakenyos, each received P20,000, trophy and sash.
Aside from the main title, Marcelo was awarded the Sef Aniag Choice Award and a special award with trip to Boracay for three persons as a prize, while Santos was given the Bulacan Choice Award and Best in Long Gown.
“Nagpapasalamat ako sa mga sumusuporta sa’kin, lalong lalo na sa pamilya ko na patuloy ang pagsuporta. Ipagpapatuloy ko ang nasimulan ng Singkaban Festival. Itataguyod ko ang turismo sa ating bayan,” the Hari ng Singkaban said.
“Unang-una sa lahat, sobrang blessed ako sa sobrang unexpected po ito since ito po ang unang crown ng bayan namin, ang bayan ng Bulakan. Sobrang proud po ako na dadalhin ‘yung bayan ko hindi lamang sa’min kundi sa buong probinsya ng Bulacan. Maraming maraming salamat po at sana po ay hindi rin kayo mapagod na suportahan ‘yung probinsya natin at saka ‘wag po natin kalimutan ‘yung history kung saan tayo nagmula,” the Reyna ng Singkaban said.
Other winners include Hari ng Santa Maria Joshua Kristopher De Leon who won the title Hari ng Turismo; Reyna ng Bocaue Leandra Vera Marcelo who was hailed the Reyna ng Turismo; Best in Festival Costume and a special award with trip to Boracay for three persons as a prize; Hari ng Lungsod ng Malolos Aron Christopher Layug who won the Hari ng Sining at Kasaysayan and Best in Formal Wear; Reyna ng Lungsod ng Malolos Lalaine Locsin as Reyna ng Sining at Kultura; Hari ng Lungsod ng San Jose del Monte Mac Ericson Cinco as Hari ng Kasaysayan and Best in Festival Costume; Reyna ng Pandi Jezreel Kaye Capiral as Reyna ng Kasaysayan.
Also, Hari ng Pandi Jeff Jayson Santos and Reyna ng Meycauayan Princess Angelique Castañeda were hailed 1st runners up plus Ms. Photogenic for Castañeda; Hari ng Bustos Jacob Ordoveza placed as 2nd runner up with Mr. Photogenic and Bulacan Choice Award; Reyna ng Santa Maria Hennie Mae Gaspar also won as 2nd runner up; and Reyna ng Baliwag Mary Rose Pineda also received the Sef Aniag Choice Award.
Hari at Reyna ng Singkaban is the official festival pageant for the month-long celebration of Singkaban Festival with this year’s theme “Singkaban Festival 2017: Bulacan, Babalik-balikan.”
