CITY OF MALOLOS – In an aim to further promote gender equality and support to the LGBTQ+ community, first transgender woman to be elected in congress, Congresswoman Geraldine Roman will grace the LGBTQ Bulacan Leadership Summit on September 13, 2019, 8 am at BarCie International Hotel here.
As the guest of honor, Roman will lead the discussion regarding the challenges of the Filipino LGBTQ+.
The summit also aims to cultivate connections, build community and inspire leaders from across the province of Bulacan to create more accessible and affirming ways for the members of LGBTQ+ to be accepted and recognized.
Meanwhile, Governor Daniel R. Fernando will aid in the reinforcement of gender equality in the province by sharing his message of acceptance and commitment.
“Napakahalaga ng mga ganitong programa, talagang napapanahon. Sa pagtitipong gaya nito, sana ay magtulungan tayong lahat na mabuksan ang ating mga isipan na bilang mamamayan ng bansang Pilipinas, dapat tayo’y nagtutulungan at nagmamahalan at ating ialis sa ating isipan ang diskriminasyon na siyang dahilan ng pagkakawatak-watak,” the governor said.
An open forum will be held at the end of the program.
The LGBTQ Bulacan Federation is a community with a mission to create a strong, sophisticated and vibrant local LGBTQ organization, which meets the rights and celebrates every gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people and communities in the province of Bulacan.
LGBTQ Bulacan Leadership Summit is part of the activities in the weeklong celebration of Singkaban Festival 2019 with theme “Sining at Kalinangang Bulakenyo, Dangal ng Filipino”.
