Chef Boy Logro cooks Ponce and Hilario’s favorite dishes

With them are Provincial Agriculture Officer Ma. Gloria Carrillo, Cecilia Custodio of the Department of Education and Raquel Baluyot of TESDA.

CITY OF MALOLOS – Idol sa Kusina host Chef Boy Logro demonstrated how to cook the favorite dishes of Bulakenyo hero Mariano Ponce and Kapampangan brave man Tiburcio Hilario during the Kalutong Bulakenyo held recently at The Hiyas Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center.

After the cooking demo, some Bulakenyos were lucky to have tasted shrimp tempura, Ponce’s favorite food. It became his favorite because of his Japanese wife, Kio San. While Hilario’s favorite was Le Poulet Farci Aux du Legumes or relyenong manok in Filipino.

Meanwhile, in the cooking competition where Logro also served as a judge, the winners in the category of employees of the Provincial Government of Bulacan were Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office’s Chicken Asparagus which won the first prize; Provincial Youth, Sports, Employment and Development Office’s Spicy Adobo placed second; and Provincial Public Health Office’s Tambalolo landed on the third spot.

For the Samahan ng mga Kababaihan sa Nayon category, Rural Improvement Club (RIC) Parulan’s Kare-Kare won first place followed by RIC Marilao’s Pinatisang Alimango as second and RIC Bustos’ Adobong Igat got the third place.

As for the Bulakenyo Students category, Immaculate Concepcion International College’s (ICIC) Crispy Oxtail Kare-Kare bagged the first place, Centro Escolar University’s Pochero won second place and Bulacan Polytechnic College’ Kare-Kare won the third place.

Winners for each category received a plaque of recognition and cash incentive amounting to P12,000 for the first place, P8,000 for the second place and P5,000 for the third place.
